During winter months, most people's homes tend to get a little messier than they do during the summer months. The reason for this is everybody feels like winter time is a time to be hidden in a cave. Then the sun starts to shine, the temperatures start to rise, and people suddenly get a burst of energy. This is a time known as spring cleaning time. The reason for this is people's moods change with the weather, whether we realize it or not. The most popular time for people to thoroughly give their homes a cleaning is during the spring months, hence the name spring cleaning. This makes it a great time of year to get your closets organized and get rid of the clutter that has been stacking up all winter long.
The first thing you want to do what organizing a closet is to make sure that you empty out all of the things that have not been touched in the last 3 to 6 months. Sometimes this is not possible because the items are sentimental and mean something to us therefore need a place in the closet. There are many containers and storage boxes that you can use to place items such as these. It is important though, that you keep the items organized in the closet if you muscled onto them. If you do not plan to bring these items out of the closet within the next 3 to 6 months, then these items belong in the back of the closet or shelf. These are the type of items that you want to keep reachable, but do not need to be gotten out often. I that a thing to consider when plated out the closet, is to keep the things that will not be done out often towards the back, and commonly used items towards the front.
This will keep disaster from happening, and having to dig through your closet every time you want to find something. The best thing to do when trying to organize a closet is to pull everything out, and organizationally put it back in. A great tip to remember is that everything needs its own space. It should not have a temporary home, for instance, do not place things on top of the tub's and say that you will purchase a box to store it in. Make sure that it has a home where he can be tucked away, unseen, but easily reachable. When placing things back into the closet it is a great idea to keep things in an organized fashion. This means using the same type of hangers for your clothing, and possibly even organizing clothing by color.
The basic tip and rule of thumb to remember here is to get rid of things you do not need, want, or have a place for. 3 to 6 months is a good rule to keep for things that have not been used within that time frame. This of course does not go for sentimental or personal keep items, but does go for everything else. You should not hold onto clothing that you hope to fit into again someday, or that you do not think will fit within the next 3 to 6 months. This will only cause clutter to compile in the closets.
